Well, I asked just now with my special NPC phone, and they definitely do not.

[Speaking of lying. Taako's just moving FAR ENOUGH AWAY to not get hugged, sitting himself on a desk.]

I think to start getting a picture of, um, team structure, I gotta start leaking. I think it's best to give my real team-- because someone could call me out on it - but I'm gonna do a little oopsie-lie on the power. Something that sounds plausible, but isn't the real thing. Keep that in my back pocket.

Gotcha. I've been thinking the same. Thought I'd just say I can heal an injury on myself, without the bit where I transfer it.

If I'm gonna use my power this week for tasks, I need to do it soon.

If I get cursed when everybody's shooting their powers off, it'll transfer and I'll be pretty obvious to whoever cursed me.

[Stopping by his arm after circling him a few times, putting the tip of the knife against his shoulder.]

I gotta go in enough for it to count as an injury, though.

Yeah. I was thinking - something that will still be a scab at trial, and a distinctive mark so they'll assume it's a curse, not a murder wound. Plus, if I had to prove I didn't use my power, I could point to the mark to prove it.

So maybe - cut an 'X'?

So. I'm like. 99% positive Escha did it? She basically told me she did.

I asked the directors. They don't think they'll, uh, kill again or anything. [ . . . ] I'm not convinced she did it, but like I said. I don't care if she did.

Huh. Did they say why?

[Because thar info surprises him a little.]

No, I'm with you. I talked to her and kinda said that like - my guess was the person who did it couldn't confess, just like Evan, and still couldn't, and that's kind of a nightmare. And she started talking like 'I' couldn't confess - and then when I seemed surprised, said she was talking about the boat, but didn't say anything like 'don't worry, I didn't do it' even though it's obviously what I was thinking. And then she said maybe I should ask the directors if it's true the person still couldn't confess.

So. . . yeah. But I think she did it for a good reason. I think she found out that somebody has to kill every week, or we'll all die.

Could be misinterpreting - um, just reiterated that there isn't possession or compulsion, you know? So if it's just a person acting on their own, probably not gonna risk their neck to kill again?

Escha killed in self-defense, on the boat. I don't know if she told you that. And then we had to kill her anyway.
